REVEALED: The secret behind Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s success

HENRIKH MKHITARYAN is being rewarded for his never-say-die attitude at Manchester United. That’s according to German football expert Lee Price, who watched Mkhitaryan become a Bundesliga star at Borussia Dortmund.

However, Mkhitaryan had to wait 75 days for his second United start after a City horror show. He was pulled off at half-time of the Manchester derby in September and has only just got back in the picture.
But the Armenia international, who netted against Zorya in the Europa League in midweek, is now firmly in Mourinho’s plans.

Price, who released The Bundesliga Blueprint book earlier this year, said: “It’s come to a surprise to almost everyone in Germany that Mkhi hasn’t flown out the blocks at United.
“He was by far and away the best midfielder in the Bundesliga last season and the fact he’s been left out the Manchester United squad altogether was pretty baffling.
“Add to that the fact that Bastian Schweinsteiger has been left in the cold and a lot of German United fans are puzzled right now.
“Lesser men would have probably caved and let the Mourinho treatment get to them - but not Mkhi.
“His attitude is second to none and that’s why he was so popular at Dortmund - the fans loved him because he never gave up.
“That’s what I think is the secret to his turnaround - the way he’s not surrendered and admitted defeat. That could easily have happened especially with so many top-quality midfielders at the club already.
“We’re now starting to see that at United and Mkhi’s only going to get better.
“I don’t think it’ll be too long before he’s a permanent fixture in the United side.”
