Manchester United full-back Antonio Valencia will miss Wednesday’s Premier League visit to Crystal Palace through suspension, after he picked up his fifth booking of the season in Sunday’s 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur.
Valencia becomes the fifth Reds player to pick up a ban after collecting five yellow cards with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marouane Fellaini, Paul Pogba and Wayne Rooney the others who suffered the same fate.
Valencia’s yellow card for a late challenge on Spurs’ Danny Rose followed cautions against Stoke City, Manchester City and West Ham United in both the Premier League and the EFL Cup.
Despite the absence of the Ecuadorian, the Red Devils will hope to build on the 1-0 win over Spurs as they travel to Selhurst Park to face the Eagles, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan's already ruled out as well by Jose Mourinho after the Armenian left the field on a stretcher in the second half on Sunday.
